PreschoolFirst.com is an online play-based curriculum and observational tool, owned by The Source for Learning, Inc. (SFL), a non-profit Virginia corporation (“PreschoolFirst.com”). PreschoolFirst.com's website allows teachers, parents or caregivers to record and analyze observations of play or individual behaviors of children. PreschoolFirst.com is not a diagnostic tool and should not be used as one.

PreschoolFirst.com is intended for use by schools, school districts, school administrators, faculty, parents and legal guardians. Registrants for PreschoolFirst.com must provide certain personally identifiable information to use PreschoolFirst.com. The Registrant monitors and controls access to the Registrant's account by teachers, parents, caregivers and others.

PreschoolFirst.com takes privacy very seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how PreschoolFirst.com collects, protects and uses information we collect from you, including personally identifiable information as described below. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully before using this site. By using PreschoolFirst.com, you agree:

•  That you accept the terms of this Privacy Policy;

•  That all measures to protect Personally Identifiable Information (as defined below) that this Privacy Policy describes are satisfactory to you and that you authorize PreschoolFirst.com to take these measures; and

•  That you will not violate the terms of this Privacy Policy.

When do you collect personally identifiable information?
PreschoolFirst.com collects personally identifying information provided by registrants and other users about faculty, students and parents/guardians, and we use that information to provide our services. For example, personally identifiable information is collected when the Registrant opens an account, when users visit PreschoolFirst.com web pages and when users upload data in the course of using PreschoolFirst.com. This personally identifiable information may include any or all of the following information that is not otherwise publicly available:

Registrants (including school systems, school districts and other organizations): name, telephone number, address, email address, billing address.

Faculty and administrative personnel: Names and email addresses

Children: name, birthdate, age, gender, observations of the child's activities and development.

Parents/Guardians/Others: Names and email addresses.

In addition, personally identifiable information may include credit card information that you provide in connection with processing your transaction(s). Personally identifiable information may be linked to credit card authorization information. At present, PreschoolFirst.com's third-party vendor, Verisign, collects all such information in the course of processing transactions; PreschoolFirst.com does not itself collect any credit card information or financial data from users, and PreschoolFirst.com does not retain any credit card information provided by users or registrants in our active database (i.e. our database for current customers and users) or our inactive database (i.e. our database for former customers).

PreschoolFirst.com also may automatically receive and record other information from your browser when you visit a website. This information is not personally identifiable information but may uniquely identify your browser, and this information includes user IP addresses, browser type and browser language, as described below.

How is my personally identifiable information used?
PreSchoolFirst.com uses your registration information to maintain your account, to notify you of important updates and to contact you for additional information. PreschoolFirst.com will not share your personally identifiable information with third parties such as advertisers or third-party ad servers; all personally identifiable information is made available only to SFL and its subsidiaries or affiliates. We use the information we collect only to process your transaction and to provide you with products and/or services that you request. Although we use reasonable efforts to encrypt and safeguard your personally identifiable information, transmissions made via the Internet cannot be made absolutely secure. We assume no liability for the disclosure of data due to (1) transmission errors over computer networks or (2) unauthorized third party access to our servers. Registrants retain sole responsibility for monitoring access to the Registrant's account by authorized faculty, teachers, parents and others. We cannot be responsible for any disclosure of personally identifiable information by users of PreschoolFirst.com.

Email Addresses. PreschoolFirst.com may collect email addresses that you provide (1) during registration for use with PreschoolFirst.com or (2) when you request information or publications from PreschoolFirst.com. We may use these email addresses to send you information that you request or for other notifications. We do not share e-mail information with sponsors, partners, or parties other than SFL and any subsidiaries or affiliates.

Survey Information. From time to time, we may collect information via a survey on our website, but that information will not be linked individually to you, your school, your students or their parents.

Cookies. At present, PreschoolFirst.com's use of “cookies” is limited, but we reserve the right to expand our use of cookies in the future. A “cookie” is a message that is sent to your browser from a Web server and stored on your computer's hard drive. Some websites use cookies to store and track user preferences to provide a more personalized user experience. You can set your browser preferences to reject all cookies (see below) but then you may not be able to participate in customized services, and you may be required to repeatedly type in information in order to participate in various services, promotions, or product offerings.

IP Address. We may also collect Internet Protocol (IP) addresses from your computer or network for the purposes of systems administration or to collect information in aggregate form (e.g. how many visitors logged in to our Web site).

An IP address is a number that is assigned to your computer automatically when you use the Internet. When you visit a particular web page on our Web site, our servers log your IP address. Your IP address is not linked to personally identifiable information.

With whom do you share information?
We restrict access to your personally identifying information to SFL employees who need to know that information in order to operate, develop and improve our services. Unless stated otherwise herein, we do not disclose personally identifiable information to third parties without your prior permission. However, specific uses of personal information that vary from this Privacy Policy may be found the in the Terms of Service or privacy policies applicable to a particular service or offering.

Please note that we do not control the privacy policies of third-party websites that may be accessed via links on our website. We assume no responsibility or liability for these third party policies or the actions of third parties and ask that you become familiar with the privacy policies of any such third party website.

We will disclose personal information when we believe in good faith that any applicable law, regulation, or legal process requires it, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect or enforce our rights or the rights of another user. We also may disclose aggregated user statistics in order to describe our services and reach to prospective partners, advertisers, and other third parties. However this aggregate data is not personally identifiable information.

What are my options to control the use of my personally identifiable information?
You may cancel your registration to any of our services and/or request the removal of information from our records by calling 1-866-584-2900 or 1-703-860-9200 or by sending an e-mail to info@sourceforlearning.org. Upon receiving your request, we will remove the information from our active database, but will keep information in our inactive database for use in aggregate statistics. I f your registration terminates due to expiration or nonpayment, your information will be maintained in our inactive database so that information will not have to be re-entered upon re-registration.

Residual information may remain in our archives and records, and although we may notify you of major changes to our service from time to time, you agree that Preschoolfirst.com may revise the terms of this Privacy Policy at any time with or without prior notice, and your continued use of Preschoolfirst.com constitutes your acknowledgement that you understand and accept these terms. We will notify you about significant changes in our treatment of personally identifiable information by sending a notice to your registered email address or by placing a prominent notice on our site. We reserve the right to maintain information on registered users who have violated our Terms of Service or on users who have had their access to our service blocked by PreschoolFirst.com or by a registrant.

What else should I know about my privacy?
At present, Preschoolfirst.com does not have any public areas (e.g. chat rooms, bulletin boards, etc.) but reserves the right to add such areas in the future.

You should be aware that if you voluntarily disclose personal information online in a public area, that information may be collected and used by others. We do not control the actions of our visitors and registered users. If you disclose personal information in a chat room, forum, on your home page, or any other publicly accessible place on the Internet, you do so at your own risk and you understand that your submitted information may be collected and used by others to send you unsolicited messages, advertisements, or for other purposes.

Please remember that protection of your privacy begins with you. You are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of any password you use to register or create for others, and you should always be careful and responsible whenever disclosing information online.

What about children's personally identifiable information?
We support the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act and feel strongly about protecting the privacy of children. We will not knowingly collect or use any data from children we know to be under the age of thirteen. In addition, if we receive notification that any personally identifiable information in our database originated with a child younger than thirteen years old, we will delete that information from our databases. We encourage children to involve their parents in any interactive activity they participate in online.

Acceptance of Privacy Policy.
By using the PreschoolFirst.com website and services, you signify your acceptance of this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy constitutes a part of the license that grants access to you, and conditions your access of, the services provided on our website. If you do not agree or are not comfortable with any policy described in this Privacy Policy, your only remedy is to discontinue use of our website and contact us to request removal of any of your personally identifying information from our databases. We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time either on our initiative or to comply with changes in law. Your continued use of any portion of our website following notification or posting of such changes will constitute your acceptance of those changes.
